Does not our freedom come from the Lord? Has He not promised to rebuke the Devourer for our sakes? Shall I hate my brother, who has much goods? So then,What is it, If I Lose it all?
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,”. (Php 3:7-8.)
Those that have not put their total faith in God, weather they be Christian or an unbeliever, have this worlds goods in mind. They have money, power, status, goods of various kinds, but the thing they do not have, which is more valuable, is freedom from sin, and Satan.
If I lose my home, I still have freedom, if I lose my finances, I still have freedom, If I am on the street, I still have freedom, If I lose all my family, and loved ones, I still have freedom. I rejoice, when I have no food, for I know that the freedom, that I possess will see me threw. If I have no friends on this earth, I still have freedom, and the greatest friend of all. For I believe, as it is written; “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:.”
So what is it, if I lose all that I possess, I have been declared, by The Spirit of God, that I am, A Child of God, I am a King, and a Prince, not of this world, but of the next. Have I suffered loss, have I been persecuted, have I been hated, have I been in need? Yes, but I have endured all things by the mercy of the Lord. When I have been naked, He has clothed me, when I have been hungry, He has fed me, when I have suffered loss, He has comforted me. He is all in all, and is the Great rewarder to all who seek Him.
Am I not more than food and clothing? Am I not more than earthly possessions? Am I more than I am, or ever will be? I am, who I am, by the Grace of God.
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” (Rom 8:16-19.)
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” There are multitudes in need, who are in suffering, who are engulfed in wars, and conflicts. There are many that say, we, as Christians are to be wealthy in this life, as well as the next. These people that preach these things have overlooked one major commandment by the Lord.
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles (Unbelievers) seek
for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Mat 6:31-34.)
Who shall say that, a man who is wealthy, is better than the man who is poor? Who shall say that, a Christian who is wealthy, is better than the Christian who is poor? Who then has made us judges of right and wrong, rich or poor? “There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.” (Pro 13:7.)
Have you forgotten that your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things? This teaching, of earthly Christian wealth, and lack of faith, has brought about a great rift between the rich, and the poor. The false teaching of mans imagination, has set many mens minds to believe, if they bring tithes, and offerings, into the House of God, then they shall become rich. It is stated in prophecy, and in the testament of Christ, that the rich shall bring the poor before judges. The physicians, hospitals, and the rich, persecute the poor, for often the debts from them, are oppressive to those without, making them, as many say, second class citizens.
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Rev 3:17, Rev 3:19.) Read and understand; “I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.”
“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” (Luke 18:8-14.)
I leave you with this thought;
“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.” (Act 20:26-27.) ars.
